Can I bring an existing Pixlet app?
Usually. Niblet supports Pixlet’s core Starlark model, widgets, settings, fonts,
and animations. Apps that depend on Tidbyt-only services, credentials, or
private APIs may need changes.
Does Niblet Cloud run my source while I build?
No. Editing, validation, preview, and rendering happen on your computer. Niblet
Cloud receives a revision only when you run niblet apps push.
Can an AI assistant build the app for me?
Yes, if the assistant can work with files and run the Niblet CLI on your
computer. Niblet MCP can manage project metadata and review submissions, but it
does not accept source code or render apps remotely.
Can MCP control my display?
Yes, after you approve the requested OAuth permissions. An assistant can manage
installed apps, order, brightness, schedules, scenes, and eligible firmware
actions. It cannot receive Wi-Fi details, app credentials, or physical setup
proofs.
No. Submission starts review of the exact source and preview you uploaded.
Approval and catalog release are separate steps.
Is app hosting free?
Yes. Custom app hosting is included for the supported personal workflow. The
current developer limits are five projects and 50 MiB of stored source per
account.
Is Niblet affiliated with Tidbyt?
No. Niblet is an independent project. We use the Tidbyt name only when
